What do I receive as a Program Partner?
Marketing of your program
to teens and their parents through our website at sebteens.org
to teens through Instagram #sebteens
to parents through our Facebook page @sebteens
"Mentor training" for your staff and instructor/facilitators. This includes:
2-hour in-person training on the special needs and opportunities of working with teens.
safety assurance through required fingerprinting of all instructors/facilitators.
background checks as required if the instructor/facilitator has lived less than 10 years in California
Codes of conduct to clarify expectations around social interactions (e.g., bullying, intolerance, consent, boundaries); use of technology; smoking, alcohol and drug use; and other teen-specific issues.
Procedures for situations such as handling a behavioral problem, conflict resolution between teens, the problem of a parent not picking up teen before closing time.
Does it cost money to participate?
No. It's free! Free for you to be a Program Partner and free for teens to join the club.
Do our activities have to be free?
No, While it’s free for teens to become a member of the Sebastopol Teen Club, the activities are not necessarily free. Each of the activities offered by the Program Partners will cost whatever the Program Partner decides to charge for the activity. Some activities will be free, for example at the Sebastopol Library all activities are free of charge. Some activities will cost a registration fee collected by the Program Partner, such as a teen pong at the community center.
How does my organization become a Program Partner?
Attend a Program Partner Orientation held at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center:
Week of August 19th, 2019 (for programs offered in winter/spring 2020)
Week of Jan 13th, 2020 (for programs offered summer 2020)
Week of April 27th, 2020 (for programs offered fall 2020)
What are the requirements?
Aligning with the mission to provide safe, fun and productive programming where teens can engage, connect and discover their true potential.
Supporting our youth in social emotional learning, attaining academic success or cultivating job readiness skills.
Enforcing the Code of Conduct at your activities, sending an Incident Report or Accident Report to SCCC as needed.
Taking attendance and reporting numbers weekly to Sebastopol Community Cultural Center (a requirement of the grant funding).
Meeting three times a year to network with other Program Partners, gain new skills and insights about teens, problem-solve as needed and creatively brainstorm new programs.
